For more than a decade Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures have reliably protected the automated grease and oil lubrication systems on industrial equipment.

The Situation

Quality Products Co., Inc. has been designing, fabricating, and installing automated lubrication systems since 1997. As part of the company’s commitment to ensuring long service life, they have emphasized the sourcing of enclosures that would provide housing protection for pumps used in harsh environments, thereby increasing the longevity of QPC lubrication systems.

The Challenge

QPC systems are placed on large moving industrial equipment with extreme vibrations, exposure to strong UV rays, rocks and other environmental hazards. In addition, QPC lubrication systems are typically exposed to sand, dust, moisture, and a wide range of temperatures.

The company initially considered the use of stainless steel enclosures as protection against such elements. The cost of stainless steel, however, was too high to keep QPC systems competitively priced.

The Solution

QPC ultimately selected Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures, in part because the physical properties of Stahlin’s products met QPC’s performance needs – in part because Stahlin enclosures, unlike offerings from other manufacturers, were available in the required size.

Stahlin was able to combine two off-the-shelf enclosures to create one custom enclosure that met the QPC system size requirement and was manufactured to survive in harsh environments. Additionally, Stahlin’s cost for the custom enclosure kept the lubrication systems competitively priced.

Stahlin enclosures survive in harsh environments because the enclosures meet NEMA 4X standards.

Over the span of more than ten years, QPC- Products has experimented with other non-metallic enclosures, but none, until Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures, provided QPC with the proper protection for reliable operations in harsh environments.
